Ne yo : Year of the Gentleman

Ne yo's one of the best RnB artists today. From his hit single, "So sick", Ne yo has been topping charts, from the Billboard top 100 to local music top 10s. What's so really great about Ne yo is that he's not only a great RnB singer, but he's a very good song writer too. He has worked with some of the famous RnB artists, like Rihanna, and those songs are a hit as well.

Ne yo's music is mix of music genres, from what he is known for RnB, pop, slow, and dance music, one can say that this singer is the best among the best. No doubt that he's one of my favorite!

After the hit "Because of you", which is still on everybody's head, he will be releasing a new album this September 2008, entitled "Year of the Gentleman". From this album, the single "Closer" was released last April 2008.

Jordin Sparks - One step at a time

Before David Cook's fame, it was all Jordin Sparks. Now, she has enjoined her new life being one of the successful new singers. Before, I never knew her, since I was not really fond of watching American Idol before, and the only thing that I knew about her is her songs, especially the never dying "Tattoo".

Now that I know her, I kind a like her music, with her voice and talent, she fits whatever type of music. Just after the hit single "No Air", which she sung with Chris Brown, also one of my favorite, another song from her album, which is entitled "One step at a time", is now topping the charts. After a series of love songs, she comes with an inspirational song, with a twist of a pop music.

If you like to surf the Internet, you have probably noticed that there are a lot of controversies going on with actors, actresses, and singers. And one celebrity who has also joined this wanted list of controversial celebrities is young pop singer, Miley Cyrus, star of Hannah Montana. For a number of weeks now, a lot of things have been said about Miley Cyrus. I was also intrigued by these controversies, maybe because many have thought that she was a nice young lady, who likes what see does, being a star. Since the Britney, Lindsay and Paris issues, we never thought that another singer would be joining these controversial singers on every blog post and on youtube.

I would not judge Miley by what I have seen on her recent issue, the one which involves Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, but maybe she should be watching her actions, since she’s not an ordinary girl anymore who could do whatever she wants. Oh well, she said sorry for what she have done, let’s just wait and see what will happen next.

“Take a bow” is another song by Rihanna, in her current album, which was released last year, but still topping charts until now. What’s so special about this song? I like the lyrics, it’s simple, yet anyone can relate to it, especially those who have been hurt. When I heard this song, I thought that it has weird lyrics, so I didn’t gave it much attention. Then, when I was not doing anything, I searched for the lyrics, and I got a good laugh at it. And I said “a very nice one Rihanna”.

Jesse McCartney - Leavin'

For these past few weeks, Jesse McCartney's song, " Leavin' " is tuck on my head! There's not a day that I can’t sing its chorus, “I’m leavin’ never lookin’ back again”, and even my friend has been singing the same song. So, is this a good song? For me, the rhythm is okay, although it seems familiar, or quite similar with Billy Crawford’s (International Filipino-American singer) song, “Bright Lights”. But I don’t like to compare these two young talented men, because they are both good singers, and both good looking.

Right now, Jesse McCartney is doing an album with David Cook (American Idol Season 7 winner), however, there’s no news on when it will be released. His song “ Leavin’ ” is on Billboard Top 100, played on music channels, and it’s heard on the radio since May 2008.

Amy Winehouse

Who's Amy Winehouse? (I asked myself). I didn't know her before (Ooopss sorry Amy), I just know that she's controversial, that's it. But apparently, I got curious, so I searched for her in the world wide web. And I found out that I am so out of date! Yeah! Okay, so she's a very controversial singer, who has been in so many news since 2007. News about her behaviour, her drug and alcohol addiction, her cancelled concert and tours, and her music (a mix of soul, jazz, and r n' b).

What struck me most, is that this lady, which I have no idea who she was before, had 6 Grammy Nominations, and had won 5 Grammy Awards from those nominations, including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Amy Winehouse has also won a Brit Award, and Ivor Novello Award (twice). Although she had so many recognition, she still have this problem of addiction, like some of the singers and actresses/actors. However, some of the fans, disagree that she's like other addicted singers, because she has talent, and she's unique.

Now, as I have searched through, she agreed to go to rehab,again. Hopefully, this time she'd be (more) okay, so she won't be able to cancel her concerts :D .

David Cook

Since the finals of American Idol Season 7, I have been waiting for the release of David Cook’s Album. Yes! I’m an avid fan of David Cook, because unlike any other contestants of American Idol Season 7, he has his own style, he’s quite creative with his performances, and he can sing any song. Now, that’s a true artist. Although he is compared to some other rock stars (because of his big voice), he’s my type of a pop/rock star. I have even got some of his songs on my play list, and everyday I listen to them, especially the “music of the night” song. Why? Although the song is a bit old, his version is so cool, and you can even say that he sounded like Gerard Butler, the one who sang the song in the Phantom of the Opera. I can say, he could be the next phantom.

Currently, David Cook is making his debut album, but he has already broken a lot of records with his American Idol performances.

American Idol Top 3

After the rock n' roll hall of fame performance night, only three talented people were left, and American Idol says goodbye to Jason Castro. Yes, the charming, hair braided man was the one eliminated from the Americal Idol last Wednesday.

For the past few weeks, Jason Castro was not doing good in his performance, for me his style of singing and the set ups are the same, week by week. I guess the judges find him boring, although he's charming, his looks won't let him win the American Idol title.

For me, although some of the viewers and his fans enjoyed his performance, I think it was a little odd, and a bit boring.. and he messed up! He forgot some of the lyrics (which is not good at this level of the competition), and just mumbled a lot while he sings, and I can't even hear the exact words of the lyrics. Well, this is just an opinion, and I say sorry for Jason Castro fans.

Now, it's all up to two man and one woman for the title of the next American Idol. Will it be David Archuleta? Will it be David Cook? or Will it be Syesha Mercado? I can't wait to see the last performance!

American Idol Top 6

Last Americal Idol show down was a great one, however the result was a bit unfair or let's say... there's no justice. Carly Smithson was the one voted out, and was not able to be one of the American Idol Top 6. Although I really didn't like Carly Smithson, her performance, where she sung "Jesus Christ Superstar", was good one, and the judges' comments on here were not bad at all. So, the people, maybe was not satisfied with her performance, but what about Brooke White? She seemed to be shaking and was not able to perform well, what about her?

Oh well, as they say, American Idol is just an instrument for the fame and glory, but if they really got talent, they can shine even without winning the "talent-popularity contest".

Rihanna: Hate that I love you

This song is probably not new, but I keep on singing it whenever it comes into my mind. The first time I heard this song was from a friend, then I tried to search for the song, and when I played it, it got stuck on my head for weeks. It became one of my favorite songs, since it was sung by my two favorite singers, Rihanna and Ne-yo, they are so good, especially the rhythm that they have.

This song reminds me of those times, when I asked myself if I would fall in love someday.Oh, I hate that I love you, so much, but no matter how a person (who has fallen in love), keeps on hating this word, still that person keeps on his mind that special person that he/she keeps on saying "I love you" to. :-)

This is Leah Dizon, for those who doesn't know her, she is a singer in Japan, and a popular model, Asia and International. But actually, she grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has a mixed blood of Chinese, French, and Filipino.

She started modelling on car magazines, and encouraged by fans to send a demo tape to a talent agency in Japan. She was accepted, and she made a contract to do an album, in Japanese. Now, she is on top of every charts in Japan, and in Asia. Also, she started doing commercials and movies.

She has an image of a sexy young model, singer, with an angelic face. But, her actions are like of a naughty young girl. She likes shopping, cooking and eating - - - I wonder how she keeps her body fit. ;-)
